Ok so this week i think we are learning something new..idk but anyway i do remember trig functions really well because they are really east. there are six trig functions:
6 Trig Functions
sin = y/r
cos = x/r
tan = y/x
csc = r/y
sec = r/x
cot = x/y
theres a few things i do not understand which is law of sines, law of cosines, and sigma notations...

both law of sine and law of cosines are formulas used to solve for the components of a non right triangle
ReplyDeletelaw of sine is a formula used to solve for the components of a triangle when there is a set or pair of information given meaning a length of a side on the opposite side of a given angle.
law of cosines is a formula used to solve for the components of a triangle when a set or pair of information is not given.
law of sines-
ReplyDeleteused when you have an angle and a side across from each other. EX: <A=90, <B=30, a=5, c=4
(sin90/5)=(sin30/b); (sin90/5)=(sinc/4)
-sinA/a=sinB/b=sinC/c
cross multiply and divide :)
law of cosines-
used when you have side-angle-side
EX: <A=60, b=3, c=4
a^2=(3^2)(4^2)-2(3)(4)cos(60)
-c^2=a^2*b^2-2*a*c*cos(angle between)
as for sigma notation, if you figure it out, help me.
